At the present it has increased the use and installation of variable frequency drives (VFD) for several industrial motor applications. 

In the majority of cases they work as nonlinear loads that degrade network quality and put the rest of the installation equipments at risk of breakdowns and increasing electrical losses. The generated perturbations can be classified as harmonic distortion (caused by the bridge rectifier) and as electrical noise (caused by the investor).
